Thanks to the generosity of the Weissberg Foundation, Collaborative Arts is announcing a $200,000 commitment of its general operational budget to funding public art projects in the city of Richmond between 2025-2030.

We are developing partnerships with local government, artistic networks, and donors to fund and create new public art and public art spaces in the City of Richmond.
We plan to put our resources towards not only creating new artist-led projects but also towards creating a sustainable means of maintaining space and funding for local public artists.
Its no secret that Richmond is changing and that even long held and loved artistic spaces and works have become endangered, damaged, and erased by developments in our growing city. By working with local government and donors we can secure places of permanence, experimentation, and creative expression for local public artists, while also creating gathering spaces for mixed community uses that can boost our culture and local economy.
Since we began our work in 2020, and since we began Collaborative Arts in 2022, we have seen the power of public art and the effect it can have on our communities. Public art can dismantle harmful historical legacies, it can create spaces of joy and recreation, it can even feed communities and provide jobs. Its a medium that speaks directly to our communities and inherently brings people together to work and learn and experience art as part of their everyday life, without barrier to entry.
We can't wait to share this journey with all of you and we hope you will join us in this mission. If you are interested in supporting us please click the link below to go to our donation page.
